Workmen clean up shoreline buried under blanket of muck from giant oil slick which covered the Santa Barbara coastline 2/69. the "Great Oil Spill" which resulted from a leaking offshore drilling rig left a sheet of glob on the beaches, blackened the rocks, stuck to the hulls of 1,000 boats in the harbor and gave off a nauseating stench. Oil remains here as a sticky political issue.
