2007-0292 PRINTS-F-SIZE: SAN FRANCISCO: 1849 View from Rincon Hill looking northwest. Shows the city flanked by Telegraph and Russian Hills, three men on foot in foreground mule carrying supplies and man on horseback; San Francisco Bay filled with sailing ships; Mt. Tamalpais, Angel Island and the hills of Marin in the distance. From the original drawing by Geo. H. Baker made at date expressly for the New York Tribune and published in that papers' issue of Aug. 28th, 1849. From the collection of Dr. Dean L. Mawdsley.
