Description
2003-0191 View from across beet field looking towards sugar beet factory. Shows buildings, smokestack and railroad cars. James Hamilton organized two corporations with intent to establish sugar beet operation in California: Pacific Sugar Construction Company and Alta California Beet Sugar Company. Built factory on land purchased in Glenn County. Plant completed in 1906.
