Description
Photograph of the interior of the private chapel at the Convent of Domican Sisters at Mission San Jose de Guadalupe, ca.1904. Cases of pews face each other across the center aisle. Windows and hanging pictures punctuate the opposing walls. A carpet runs up the middle toward the alter which is dominated by the sculpture of a figure holding a baby, numerous tall candlesticks and candles and an ark depicting a chalice. The letters "IHS" are written on the altar. The vaulted ceiling is visible above.
