Photograph caption dated December 26, 1959 reads, "Top End - Versatile Chuck Markham, Birmingham High School end, was the only junior named to the All-City second team. This fleet six-foot, two-inch 185-pounder will be back next year to lead the Braves in their quest of the West Valley League championship. He is not only a top pass catcher, but also does the punting and conversion kicking for Birmingham." Markham was selected for the 1959 Helms All-City football squad.
