Description
During Peter Drucker’s talk entitled "From Counting to Measurements" he discusses accounting and measurement. During his lecture, he talks about: activity based accounting, the Coca-Cola Company and independent bottlers, automobile companies, the cluster concept, Procter & Gamble and Sam Walton, accounting system compatibility, the Yamazaki Baking Company, health care, supermarkets, cost and yield of efficiency, military performance expectations, the success of the Social Security program, measurements of accountability, a systems view of an organization, and management information concepts. During the question and answer session, Drucker answers questions from his talks "What Comes After Quality Management" and "From Counting to Measurements." He addresses the following: increasing knowledge labor, money as a resource, the Japanese and functional research, team motivation, closed circuit chats between doctors and nurse practitioners, management schools, state agencies, the United States' unemployment rate, microchips and the unemployment rate in Japan and Malaysia, depressed commodity prices, Venezuela and an economy based solely on oil, the Sony Corporation, and money flows and information flows.
