Description
Photograph of an old cemetery in Lone Pine, Inyo County, ca.1900. A grave marker at center is guarded by a fence with four, thick posts at each corner and thin poles between them. Surrounding the grave marker are piles of rock and weeds while a second grave marker is leaning to the right. An incomplete fence can be seen on the far left while many more grave markers are scattered about the background. A faint hillside can be seen in the distance. "The line of posts at the back mark the graves of 21 victims of the earthquake of March 26, 1872".
