Description
"The Great Wall of China. Manchuria is popularly known as 'East of the Barrier,' the barrier being the Great Wall of China, 1250 miles long, built by the Emperor Shih, 206 B. C. Millet Crop and Chinese Cart in the foreground". Postcard showing a two wheeled cart and three people next to a field of millet and running along the ridge of the hill in the background is a fortified wall. The original postcard was posted in Glasgow to an address in Edinburgh. ❧ This image belongs to an album of photographs collected by Dr. Stevenson and includes images from India, China and Africa.
