Description
Photographic portrait of an outfit of cowboys at their camp, with range horses, 1898. Several pup tents and a mess tent have been pitched among a group of cowboys who pose with a small herd of range horses behind them. Two stand to the far left in front of two horses and one of the tents, followed to the right by the mess tent, from which smoke is billowing out of a cooking fire on the ground. Next, seven cowboys are situated, five of them standing, two mounted on horses with two tents pitched behind them to the right. The group of unsaddled range horses is visible to the center behind them. Trees are visible in the background.
