Drawing of Charles Gilman (1793-1861). Practiced law in New Hampshire and Baltimore, Maryland. Came to California in 1849. While in California, presided as Chairman of the Convention of Masonic Lodge, prior to the formation of the Grand Lodge of California in 1850. Returned to Baltimore in the mid-1850s.
