Concerns Kent's political activities as state chairman or Northern California chairman of the Democratic State Central Commitee, 1954-1964, with emphasis on political campaigns, 1954-1966, particularly Stevenson's 1956 presidential campaign and Pat Brown's gubernatorial canpaign's. Kent comments on his work with Department of Defense and the Securities and Exchange Commission; his private law practice; his father, William Kent, and his mother, Elizabeth T. Kent; family life; etc. Related material : copies of speeches, clippings, letters, pamphlets, etc. 2 sound cassettes, one of his memorial service, May 22, 1980; the other an excerpt from an interview with Alice Paul concerning Kent (shelved as Phonotape 2947 C).
