Description
Suki Kim discusses her novel, “The Interpreter.” She begins by explaining how her novel is about a Korean American woman who works in a New York City court as an interpreter. The main character’s parents have been murdered, and she is able to find clues through different ways of interpreting testimonies. Kim talks about how she worked as an interpreter to research for the book. Martinson asks Kim to read a passage from her novel about different interpreting jobs. She ends the interview by describing her own move from Korea to America and what it was like growing up as an immigrant.
