Mrs. Clara Grogan Thacker, 75, was badly burned on the head and body in an explosion of gas from a heater in her home. A neighbor extricated her from the shattered room and she was immediately transported to Georgia Street Receiving Hospital, where her condition was reported critical. Attending to her are nurses Martha Sherrick (left) and Norma Rebel. Photograph dated November 28, 1947.
