This is a side b of tape 2, from day one, of Drucker’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation course. For the majority of the recording, Drucker talks about marketing and market segmentation. In addition, Drucker also discusses the progressive reform movement and the creation of the capital and operating budgets at local government levels using bonds for capital budgets versus rents for operating budgets. In particular, he notes that pricing has to fit customer, of what is valuable to the customer, not the budget, with price being a constraint rather than a motivation. Drucker also discusses the issues with quantifying “service.”
