On Santa Monica beach this panorama of wreckage was left by the heavy rainfall and strong winds that swept through the Southland. Scores of these small boats were flung ashore at Santa Monica by the terrific winds. More than a dozen homes were swept into the sea at another beach during the storm. Photo date: January 23, 1943.
