"Das Missionshaus in Moshi (rechts die Schule mit dem Lehrer Yohane und etlichen Schülern)" ("The mission house in Moshi (on the right the school with teacher Yohane and several students"). The school is directly attached to the mission house building. The latter has a fenced porch. The school has a corrugated iron roof and is built of stone. Inside the door the teacher (left) and four of his students. The teacher wears a European jacket and cloth underneath it. The children are dressed in cloth outfits. On the left an additional young man. Trees in the foreground. There is a light spot on the picture where it is faded. -- The picture was probably taken by Johannes Schanz (1876-1963). He worked as a missionary of the Leipzig Mission in Moshi and Mamba from 1901 to 1910.
