Description
This 1933 postcard shows a gilded California State Capitol building, as seen from the corner of Tenth and N streets. The upper left corner shows the Great Seal of the State of California, inscribed with the state motto "Eureka," Greek for "I Have Found It." Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom sits prominently, symbolizing California's direct rise to statehood.
