Photograph article dated December 9, 1964 partially reads, "Two Valley women have won first and second prizes over 2,000 other entrants in the Lawry's Southern California Chili Mix Cook-Off. They are Mrs. John Thornton of Chatsworth, mother of five children, who won first prize with her recipe of Chili Ham Surprise Pie; and Mrs. Frank Sica of Encino who was awarded runner-up prize for her dish, Continental Chili Meat Loaf."
