Description
Photograph of Francisco Zurbaran's painting "The Prayer of St. Bonaventura", Dresden Staatsgalerie, ca.1598-1662. St. Bonaventure is seen on his knees at center, looking up to an angel at left. The saint is wearing a light colored robe and his hands are held in front of him in prayer. The angel is leaning down towards Bonaventure from the upper left and has large feathered wings. In the background at right is a huddled group of church officials, and there is a large metal jug on a plate in front of St. Bonaventure.
