Description
Burton Hill Mustin was born on February 8, 1884 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Some sources cite his birth year as 1882. He was a well-known and highly regarded character actor who appeared in more than 150 film and television productions. Mustin was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. His serious acting career began at the age of 67 and continued until his death on January 28, 1977.
Photograph caption dated January 21, 1958 reads "Sometimes even barbershoppers get broken up over sentimental ballads they sing in close harmony. Burt Mustin, 73, of North Hollywood, in foreground, clutches his skimmer and his handkerchief as other members of Pasdu Notes skim musically through an old favorite. They are from left, Jim Laverty, Rang Hansen and Howell Jones."
