U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador, Deane R. Hinton, and Roberto D'Aubuisson Arrieta meet formally on election day in a corridor inside Camino Real Hotel in San Salvador. In 1993, a report published by the United Nations Commission on the Truth for El Salvador established that it was Roberto D'Aubuisson Arrieta who gave the order to assassinate Archbishop Óscar Arnulfo Romero in 1980. El embajador estadounidense en El Salvador, Deane R. Hinton, y Roberto D'Aubuisson Arrieta se conocen formalmente el dia de la elección en un pasillo del Hotel Camino Real en San Salvador.
