In 1965 Signal Oil was sold to Humble and both the Hancock Oil Company and Signal Oil brands vanished. The oil business in the mid-1800s helped establish the Hancock family as one of California’s wealthiest, and they went on to build Hancock Park which in time became a prominent district in Los Angeles. View of the Hancock service station on the corner of Flint Avenue and 7th Street in Long Beach, CA. Richfield service station is partially visible across the street on the far right.
