Description
Group portrait of Mrs. Susan Wolfskill, Fannie (Mrs. Samuel Taylor of Winters, Calif.), Melinda (married Clay Goodyear of Benicia; Charles Councilman of Winters), Jennie (Mrs. Frank Bonney of Winters), and John Wolfskill.
1990-1760.
Born in Kentucky in 1804. Spent time in Southwest as trader and livestock man, arriving in Los Angeles, California in 1838. Obtained a grant from Mexican government (with his brother William) located on Puta Creek (Yolo and Solano Counties, near current-day Winters). Planted orchard, vineyard, raised stock, grew wheat. Married Susan Cooper, daughter of Major Stephen Cooper. Died in 1897.
