Description
"Der afrikanische Künstler vor seiner bemalten Hütte im Kondeland." ("The African artist in front of his painted hut in Kondeland."). A man is standing in front of a thatched hut. Behind him the painted walls are recognizable. He wears a checkered shawl that looks like a blanket and a headdress.
Cf. photo no. 10335. -- Ernst Hermann Schnabel (1904-1953) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in East Africa until the end of the 1930s. In 1934, he married Käthe Prellwitz in Kyimbila.
