Note: Ramseyer neg 20. (T. Garrard). - Als Nr. 20 publiziert im Album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuenburg 1895. (RI). - Bildlegende im Album: "Stadt Date. - Diese Stadt, 11/2 Stunde von der Station Akropong entfernt, bildet eine unserer blühendsten Aussenstationen. Die Gemeinde zählt über 1200 Seelen. Die Ansicht zeigt einen Theil der Stadt und im Vordergrund etliche mit Schindeln gedeckte Christenhäuser."

Garrard). - "Late" or "Laeteh" is the usual modern spelling (PJ). - Published as no 20 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuchatel 1895. (RI). - Caption there: "The town of Date. - In this town, 1 1/2 hours distance from Akropong, we have one of our best out-stations. The christian congregation numbers 1,200 [French version: 1268] souls. This photograph shows a part of the town, with - in the foreground - several houses roofed with shingles and belonging to christians."
