Photograph caption dated August 5, 1961 reads "View through a windshield shows a cloud-shrouded and slick Ventura Freeway caused by sprinkles early this morning. The weatherman said .05 inch of rain fell, the first significant rainfall since April 22. Sunny weather can be expected this afternoon, but the weatherman predicted similar sprinkles tomorrow morning. The rain fell from 3:30 a.m. to about 7 a.m. today."
