Description
Stereo-4901. Orange mount, purple back. Shows farm buildings and vineyards. Powder Works established in 1861 by San Francisco capitalists in answer to lack of black powder due to Civil War. Built along San Lorenzo River two and a half miles north of Santa Cruz. Second superintendent, Bernard Peyton, built mansion on hilltop in modern Italian style.
