Description
Image of a dirt yard on the property of William A. Hammel on San Pedro Street (near First Street) in Los Angeles, California, with a workshop at left and children and young women, who may be nannies or servants, in the yard. A well, obscured by a bush is behind the women.
"Views of Los Angeles and Vicinity. Photographed and Published by O.E. Tyler, 18 S. Main Street."--text, printed in margin. Title devised by cataloger; date devised by cataloger based on years the photographer was active in Los Angeles (see Barbara Callarman, Photographers of Nineteenth Century Los Angeles County, page 95). The related items are other view of the palm trees in the yard.
