Photograph caption dated October 8, 1938 reads, “Fatty Arbuckle appeared in one of Colonel Selig’s films made in 1909, ‘Ben’s Kid.’ Here is a scene from the picture. Arbuckle is at left bending over baby held by Harry Todd. Second from right is Tom Santschi. In those days films were made in only one reel. Selig tried to make pictures in two and three reels, but exhibitors objected, saying that movie fans would get tired having to sit so long.”
