Description: Long, two-story hotel building with a wraparound porch and landscaped grounds of the Sierra Madre Villa hotel in San Gabriel (now Sierra Madre, California), with the San Gabriel Mountains in the background and citrus trees in the foreground. Several people sit out on the lawn and on porch.
Title transcribed from photo-mount. Date devised by cataloger based on photographer history; Watkins made two trips to Southern California, in 1877 and 1880. Printed on photo-mount to left of title, "B. 4,823," and under title, "Watkins' New Boudoir Series Yo Semite and Pacific Coast, 427 Montgomery Street, San Francisco." Corresponds to Watkins New Stereo Series #4823.
