Photograph of the Feast of San Esteban (Saint Stephan), Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico, 1886. Many people stand in the middle of the dirt street facing the kisi, which is in the midst of tree branches and bushes. On each side of the street, the three-story cube-like connected buildings have ladders leaning against their exteriors. The rafter tails are exposed. Some people look on from their roofs.
