Photograph caption dated November 24, 1955 reads, "Granada Hills Methodists start work on building which will include a chapel, social hall, Sunday School room, kitchen, parlor and office. Completion is expected in April. Design is of a modern contemporary style. Those taking part in ceremony are, from left, Rhea Robinson, chairman, building committee; Marvin Elliott, chairman, official board; Frederick J. Weitkamp, chairman, trustees; Rev. M.A. Wimberly; A.S. Peters, president, San Fernando Valley Methodist Union; Dr. Ray Ragsdale, Los Angeles District superintendent; Mrs. Edwin B. Merriman, Glendale First Methodist Church, and Rev. Irwin Trotter, pastor."
