Photograph caption dated January 13, 1964 reads "Marvin C. Hale (second from left in first photo), 19-year-old Marine who was stranded on a ledge in Tujunga Canyon for one hour Sunday, is being brought down by a Montrose Mountain Rescue Team. Bob Torset, Sun Valley, standing above Hale in second photo, directs rescue efforts. The Marine was trapped about 75 feet below ridge during a hike in the area. Hale, stationed at Ft. Lejeune, N.C., is visiting his parents in Los Angeles."; See images #00131058 through #00131059 for all photos in this series.
