Photograph caption dated January 23, 1957 reads, "Pets for Pamela - Some of most cherished gifts youngsters get are frisky puppies. Here, Pamela Fifer, 2, cuddles puppies she received from Rudy Herrera, poundmaster at San Fernando's Animal Shelter. Dogs can be obtained from any Valley pound by paying impound fee which includes license.
