Photograph caption dated September 5, 1963 reads, "Toyokazu Masuda, left, 18, an American Field Service exchange student from Kyoto, Japan, and Henry Hayden III, right, 16, Burbank, are given a lesson in the operation of a newspaper plant by Valley Times TODAY business manager Jack Curley during a tour of the newpaper's [sic] facilities. Toyokazu will attend Burbank High School with Henry this fall. The Japanese youth is living with the Hayden family at 2905 N. Brighton St."
