Description
Image of a funicular railway car traveling down to Echo Mountain. T.S.C. Lowe was the founder of the Mount Lowe project and the Mount Lowe Railway. The Echo Mountain station is visible in the background. At the time this photograph was taken, the railway was overseen by Pacific Electric Railway, as shown by the name on the railway car. This view clearly shows the steep grade of the hillside.
