Description
Front: Photograph of the home of Edwin G. Greble, located at 1131 S. Orange Grove Blvd. This is a side view of the property, which was built in 1893. At the base of the house are two women. The names of Florence and Margaret Greble are written on the reverse, which implies that they are the two women in the photograph, though it is unclear who is who. Between the two women is a dog lying on the ground. Though the image identifies the building as an Italian Villa, it is considered to be of the Mission Revival Style due to its campanario style chimney. (See Weitze, California’s Mission Revival, p. 48-49) Reverse: "Miss Florence Greble / Miss Margaret Greble"
