Redwood Utilization Study. Tree #714. This tree was a leaner and was felled downhill. It slid over 100 feet to the bottom of the canyon. It was badly split. The picture shows the additional damage done by the fire of March 6th. On March 20th, when the picture was taken, the log was still smoldering. The distance from the lower end of the break to the smoke is about 18 feet. E.F., March 20, 1929
