Photograph was edited for publication purposes William James Burrud was born on January 12, 1925. He was a child star and a television host and producer best known for travel programs. He died on June 12, 1990. Photograph caption dated January 20, 1961 reads "Ann Stevenson, 6, of Granada Hills holds up two fingers to tell TV-star Bill Burrud that she has had to have at least two injections of insulin every day for more than five years of her life. After talking with little Ann, Burrud, who is campaign chairman of the Diabetes Association of Southern California, made plea to public to 'give generously Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during Diabetes Fund Drive to help find disease cure.'"
