Photograph caption dated December 3, 1962 reads, "Colorful activities, including the crowning of a queen, awarding of a remodeled Cadillac and an intra-squad football game with all the half-time festivities will highlight Monroe High School's annual Jamboree Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the school, 9229 Haskell Ave., Sepulveda. Rehearsing for 'the big day' are Mrs. Glenn Shumway, hospitality chairman; Rick Melin, 16, music man; Kathy Feo, 17, cheerleader, and Gil Rodriguez, 17, football player. Proceeds from this PTA and student body money-raising function will be used for the purchase of air conditioning for the gymnasium."
