"Felsengruppe hinter d. Werf von Mamre." ("Pieces of rocks behind t[he] mission premises of Mamre."). In the center of the picture are rocks surrounded by plants. In the background are trees. On the bottom right of the picture there is a hole in the ground.
The word "Werf" is a term taken from Afrikaans.
