Description
Photograph shows initial stages of construction of Sacramento Valley Sugar Company in Hamilton City, Glenn County. A general view, taken from the south of the factory at the extreme left of the beet sheds on July 12th. On the second floor of the main building can be seen the housing and ammonia-coil of the Ice-plant. On the East side of the building, the progress of the brick walls enclosing the building is to be noted. The picture does not show the full extent of the stack, which, at this view, was 30 feet higher than shown. The Boiler house walls are completed and roof is in place. The Kilns have the runways around them and the super structure is entirely completed. [To accompany MSS001 held in Special Collections, Meriam Library.]
