Photograph caption dated February 23, 1962 reads, "Miss MacKenzie, honorary mayor of Encino, sings a pair of patriotic songs during an old-fashioned freedom rally in Encino Park in honor of Washington's birthday. More than 1,200 people attended the rally, sponsored jointly by Rotary, Kiwanis and Optimist Clubs, Chamber of Commerce, Community Center, Breakfast Club, Business and Professional Woman's Club Historical Society, American Legion, 4-H and Altrusa Clubs, Camp Fire Girls and Girl and Boy Scout units. Other entertainment-world personalities participating in the colorful event were George Gobel, Harry Von Zell, Wendell Noble and Howard Hill. A highlight of the event was the appearance of the city's new mobile bandwagon."
