Description
The north entrance to Honnold Library as seen from across the Mudd Quadrangle. Attached to the reverse of the photograph is a description that reads: 'Honnold Library, the gift of Mr. and Mrs. William Lincoln Honnold, was dedicated in 1952. It is the central facility for the Claremont Colleges' library system and maintains the public card catalog of the more then 825,000 volumes held by the combined libraries. Honnold is considered one of the finext academic libraries in the area and reflects the various scholastic disciplines stressed by the Claremont Colleges. Special Collections include Oxford and Renaissance materials, music collections, early Californiana and wtaer study collections, and some archives of the Claremont Colleges. The Founders Room is a large reception and conference hall which houses the Dorothy Adler Routh Collection of Oriental Art."
