"Eine Karawane setzt am Mbaka in der Nyassa-Ebene in einem Baumboot über." ("A caravan crosses the Mbaka [River] in the Nyasa plains in a dug-out canoe."). A group of Africans with various goods are standing at the opposite bank of a river while others are about to cross the river in a canoe. In the foreground an African man turning around, looking into the camera. Rich vegetation on both sides of the river. Imprinted on the image: "1655.".
