Description
Photograph of Mission Pachango Indians at their home in Temecula, base of Palomar Mountain, ca.1892. At left, seven people (mostly women and children) and a dog can be seen in front of a thatched "remada", or shelter. At the far left, a blanket hanging on curved, wooden rods covers the doorway. Rods cover the outside of both small shelters and can also be seen lining the rooftop. To the far right, a line of small rocks are visible along the base of the structure. In the extreme background, large trees are visible.
