Description
Photograph of a portrait of an Apache Indian scout, ca.1880. From the chest up. He is wearing a turban-like headdress with a floppy white feather sticking out of the top. Tassles from the ends of the cloth headdress hang to his shoulders just behind his long dark hair. He wears a vest over a pin-striped shirt. A round button or pin on his left breast has two triangular cut outs in it. He stares placidly straight ahead.
