Description
Photograph of the Fiesta de San Esteban (Saint Stephen), Acoma Pueblo, ca.1896. A crowd of people can be seen in the middle of the street between two adobe buildings. There is a large bush or tree that partially obscures the building at right, the roof of which is occupied by onlookers. Several ladders lean against the building. Some observers sit on rungs of the two ladders in the foreground. The tail rafters of all visible buildings are exposed.
