As giant waves continued to lash at Redondo Beach again on December 28, 1940, authorities took precautions against injuries to workers and the throngs of spectators who came to watch the foaming surf. The photo shows a Red Cross emergency tent set up in the 200 block on the Strand in back of two homes that have fallen into the sea.
