Description
Caption reads: "The new 16th Street Bridge paralleling the old bridge is expected to be open about the first of October, according to Fred Yoshino, resident engineer on the job. The new span will carry outbound traffic and the old one inbound traffic. Construction was done at a cost of $1.8 million in a joint venture by Fredrickson and Watson Construction Co. of Oakland and Lord and Bishop Construction Co. of Sacramento. In the picture, the camera is looking toward Sacramento."
